Igor Kobierzycki is the artist of Mississauga Dental Studio. His dedicated hard work, talent, and passion for the field have led him to become the well recognized and successful technician he is today.
Igor graduated with distinction as Best Student of the Year in 1987 from the College of Dental Technology in Torun, Poland. He started his career in Canada in 1988 in a denture department, however his astute learning skills and talent were soon noticed and led him to quickly advance to supervisor, ceramist, and finally Master Ceramist by 1993. For the next 16 years Igor was an associate of Ardent Dental Laboratories, where he ran the porcelain department and was well recognized for his expertise in cosmetic restorations, especially cosmetic empress veneers. Igor was responsible for meeting with patients for shade selection, custom staining, relations with doctors, and above all, creating beautiful smiles.
Over the years, Igor has been perfecting his skills and knowledge regarding all types of porcelain restorations by attending multiple courses, lectures and seminars. Igor has attended numerous courses, learning from some of the best in the field, such as Matt Roberts, David Korson, Stefan Borenstein, and Trevor Laingchild to name a few. Igor has also had the privilege of leading a lecture himself, on communication and shade selection.
One could say that Igor practically has dental experience in his genes – having spent his childhood in and around his parents’ dental office. His mother was a dental surgeon and his father was a renowned dental technician. Both of his parents were not only lecturers at a College of Dental Technology, but also co-founders of the institution in Torun, Poland. Now, along with his wife Kathy also a dental technician, Igor is raising the third generation in the dental field: his daughter Ola is currently studying Dentistry in University of Michigan , and his son Michael, who has graduated from the Dental Technology Program as well as the Denturism Program at George Brown College in Toronto. Michael has become one of the youngest in Canada to carry both titles of Registered Dental Technician and Denturist, and he is now running a fully operating Denture Clinic here in our office.
Igor loves challenging and difficult cases, and is consistently pursuing ways to deepen his knowledge. Besides creating smiles, he loves to spend time with his family, being outdoors, playing tennis, painting or riding his Harley.
